A semi-detached house with a deep block and width at the side, allowed a large alteration to this Balmain House. An existing carport was retained with the expected protestation from Council about the heritage conservation area but allowed an opportunity to enter the house closer to the rear rather then down a labyrinth-like hallway of the original entry.
